THE WILL FOR THE BATTLE

Tom Wilmore was the hero for Coleshill Town as they completed a double over third place Coalville in what proved to be a very fractious affair at Pack Meadow.
Wilmore struck twice, either side of an own goal by Ian Kimberley as Coleshill notched up three points, aided by Matt Gardner's first half penalty miss.
The game began in a very slow fashion, with Lee Miveld's half volley onto the inside of Kimberley's upright the only real effort to speak of. There'd be plenty to shout about before the half hour though, as Coalville were awarded a penalty even though it looked for all the world as if Ian Kimberley was being impeded by Matt Moore. Justice prevailed though when Gardner contrived to strike the foot of the post with the spot kick as the game remained goalless.
This would be changed on the stroke of half time though, as Tom Wilmore somehow found the space at the edge of a congested penalty area to sweep the ball sweetly into the bottom corner, leaving goalkeeper Sean Bowles rooted to the spot.
If Coalville felt slightly hard done by to be a goal down at the break, they responded in the best possible way as a bright start in the second half soon paid off. A peach of a free kick delivery on the right flank by James Dodd saw Kimberley stretching to claim the ball, but when the young 'keeper managed to make contact he was unfortunate to see the ball spin behind him and cross the goalline.
The early goal failed to open the game up though, as the dicey play continued. Jason Ramsey's attempt to get on the scoresheet for Coleshill was foiled by Bowles, who was able to get behind the shot after Ramsey had carried the ball from the halfway line. After a challenge by Richie Allen caused uproar on the Coalville bench, the visitors would be left feeling sorry for themselves as Wilmore served up a carbon copy of his earlier goal, finishing once again from 18 yards with little more than ten minutes on the clock.
With the aggression of Jon Powis and the composure of the brilliant Luke Edwards integral to the victory, Coleshill were able to see out the win after a feisty game low on quality but high in commitment.

Team: Ian Kimberley, Jon Powis, Leyiso Recci, Jason Lanns, Luke Edwards, Steve Hakner (Richard Allen), Michael William (Neil Kitching), Barry Fitzharris, Tom Wilmore, Chris Gumery (Dan Dineen), Jason Ramsey. Sub not used Levi Bailey.
