Saturday 26th March 2011
Baker Joiner Midland Alliance
Coleshill Town 0 v 0 Studley
Attendance: 35.

Coleshill Town are beginning to gain a reputation of being draw specialists, and once again took a single point from a league fixture as they held fifth place Studley to a goalless draw in a match of little incident or quality.
The first of few saves in the game was made by the returning Craig Johnson just before the first quarter of an hour had elapsed, a long range effort tipped wide as Studley's quick interplay had Coleshill on the ropes in the opening stages. Johnson was forced to make another stop from a one on one situation when Tom Wilmore was hustled by a visiting striker.
Coleshill struggled to make the opposing goalkeeper work though in a half hour of poor passing. Richie Allen did manage to fashion an effort at goal, but sent the ball wildly over the crossbar. Johnson was left scrambling once more from a shot on goal, but was relieved to see the ball end up inches wide of the target.

There was little obvious improvement at the start of the second period, but Studley went close to opening the scoring direct from a corner, the ball rebounding back off the woodwork. The hosts' only real clear cut chance came after 75 minutes, when Chris Gumery attempted to sweep a shot across goal from ten yards, though the goalkeeper was equal to the snatched execution.
As the season nears its end, it looks as if Coleshill's chances of a top eight finish have now slipped away, yet look as if they will comfortably achieve a top half finish. A cutting edge will need to be found in the next couple of weeks if the Colemen are to do this in style in order to reward their supporters.

Team: Craig Johnson, Jon Powis, Jason Lanns, Levi Bailey, Tom Wilmore, Michael William (Chris Lait), Richard Allen, Barry Fitzharris, Steve Hakner (Neil Kitching), Chris Gumery, Jason Ramsey.
Booked: Lanns.
