COLESHILL HERALD WROTE

Colemen change take shape but deadly Danny just misses
COLESHILL slipped to defeat in Leicestershire last weekend.

They struggled to get to grips with the game in the first half as Loughborough passed and moved with vibrancy from the first minute.

They ran the Colemen ragged and it wasn't long before they took a well-deserved lead with a near-post header from one of their many corners.

The second half saw Coleshill change their shape and they instantly looked much more comfortable.

They started to expand their play with Sam Wilson taking control of midfield and Danny Carter beginning to create a little space and pull the Loughborough defence all over the pitch.

But it was Loughborough who bagged a second, against the run of play.

Carter then had two tremendous chances to score for Coleshill.

The first was a stinging shot that was tipped over the cross bar and the second was an attempted flick from a great cross from new signing Danny Pitt.

Despite being happy with recent performances, manager Carl Adams admitted his side's display at Loughborough left a lot to be desired.

Adams said: "We did not play well at all. I was really disappointed.

"We were playing against the best side in the league for keeping the ball, in my opinion.

"They are a really good passing team and they totally dominated possession, without battering us.

"When we did get the ball, we just looked lethargic and didn't have the legs to do anything with it.

"We gave possession away far too often.

"But I think, without making excuses, fixtures have been so unkind on us.

"It was our second away trip in five days and we have another one coming up this weekend. We could do with a few home games, from a financial and playing point of view."

Coleshill are due to travel to second-placed Westfield this weekend and Adams is hoping the weather is kind.

"The forecast isn't good and if this game is off we will be facing yet another long trip on a Tuesday night, so we are keen for the game to be on," he said.
