A win at last, and against near neighbours Boldmere, all the sweeter! This was a game of two halves where Coleshill scored two before the break and could have scored more. The Mikes looked a poor side in the opening 45 minutes but in a roll reversal the visitors dominated the second period but could only find the back of the net once and Town held on for a much needed three points.
Rob Seal scored the opener when a great chance seemed to have passed. Danny Carter miss-controlled when through all goal but Seal was on hand to pick up the pieces hitting a sweet left foot shot into the corner of the net. Coleshill had a good penalty shout turned down, Seal shot just wide of the post, Carter had a one on one but former Town stopper Chris Butler did well to block the effort and Richard Gregory had a shot tipped round the post as Coleshill looked to increase their lead. In reply Boldmere hit the bar with a looping header but their chances were few and far between and Town finally went two up just before the break with a real goalmouth scrabble. Boldmere couldn't clear their lines as Coleshill piled on the pressure, the ball hit post, and bar and was cleared off the line twice before Carter tapped in from about 6 inches for one of the easiest goals he will ever score.
Boldmere came out for the second period with real determination and Coleshill were on the back foot for most of the half. Town rode their luck at times but in general defended well and on a rare break away attack could have increased the lead as Gregory's dipping effort just went over the bar. The visitors did find the net through Joe Smith but the Colemen held out for their first win in eight games.
