A win at last, and against near neighbours Boldmere, all the sweeter! This was a game of two halves where Coleshill scored two before the break and could have scored more. The Mikes looked a poor side in the opening 45 minutes but in a roll reversal the visitors dominated the second period but could only find the back of the net once and Town held on for a much needed three points.

Rob Seal scored the opener when a great chance seemed to have passed. Danny Carter miss-controlled when through all goal but Seal was on hand to pick up the pieces hitting a sweet left foot shot into the corner of the net. Coleshill had a good penalty shout turned down, Seal shot just wide of the post, Carter had a one on one but former Town stopper Chris Butler did well to block the effort and Richard Gregory had a shot tipped round the post as Coleshill looked to increase their lead. In reply Boldmere hit the bar with a looping header but their chances were few and far between and Town finally went two up just before the break with a real goalmouth scrabble. Boldmere couldn't clear their lines as Coleshill piled on the pressure, the ball hit post, and bar and was cleared off the line twice before Carter tapped in from about 6 inches for one of the easiest goals he will ever score.

Boldmere came out for the second period with real determination and Coleshill were on the back foot for most of the half. Town rode their luck at times but in general defended well and on a rare break away attack could have increased the lead as Gregory's dipping effort just went over the bar. The visitors did find the net through Joe Smith but the Colemen held out for their first win in eight games.

SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
First half goals from Danny Carter and Rob Seal were enough to wrap up the points for Coleshill Town who beat visitors Boldmere St Michaels 2-1, Joe Smith grabbing the consolation.

COLESHILL HERALD WROTE
Coleshill bag precious points from a match of two halves
COLESHILL got their season back on track with a home victory over Boldmere St Michaels.

On a wet and blustery day, Boldmere started brightly with Coleshill keeper Chris Jay catching a cross under pressure from Boldmere's Josef Jakab.

Coleshill started to show promise and Mikes keeper Chris Butler was forced to make a save at the feet of Richard Gregory.

The home side took the lead in the 27th minute when a defensive breakdown gave Rob Seal possession and he fired beyond Chris Butler and into the bottom corner of the net.

A short time later a pass found Seal again, who only shot inches wide of the visitors goal.

Coleshill nearly doubled their lead in the 31st minute when Danny Carter raced clear of everyone and rounded Butler.

However, he saw his effort cleared off the line by Levi Bailey.

A shot from Richard Gregory was then turned round the post for a corner by Butler.

Boldmere had a great chance to equalise in the 34th minute when a Kirk Smith cross found Jakab whose shot hit the top of the Coleshill cross bar.

Coleshill doubled their lead in the 36th minute as shot hit the cross bar and was palmed away by Butler as far as Carter who fired home

Boldmere looked for a way back into the game in the second half and Tom Stevenson found Jakab who fired just wide of the target.

A header from Kirk Smith was turned round the post for a corner by Jay before Jakab netted to set up an interesting finish.

Boldmere went close before the end with a long range free kick from Andrew Lewis held by Jay as Coleshill hung on for victory.
