Postby Alan Beckett » Mon Apr 02, 2012 12:01 pm

Saturday 31st March 2012
Midland Alliance
Tividale 3 v 3 Coleshill Town
Scorers:
Dale: Michael Woolman 45, 68, Lee Chilton 90.
Town: Danny Carter 29, Sam Wilson 75, Richard Gregory 89.
Attendance: 87.

Team: Ian Kimberly, Allando Davis, Craig Gasiewski, Liam Mansell, Chris Charles, Carl Adams, Liam Givans, Barry Fitzharris, Chris Lloyd, Danny Carter, Sam Wilson. Subs used Richard Gregory, Steve Hakner, Anton Astley. Subs not used David Brush, Jason Lanns.

Coleshill so nearly recorded their third win in a row away to 5th placed Tividale. With Alvechurch and Highgate both winning, Town are still in relegation danger but seven points from their last three games has certainly eased the situation. With five games remaining, Coleshill are five points clear of the bottom three but have still to play Atherstone and Highgate. The aim would be to avoid defeat to both them sides and also pick up a couple of points from Rocester, Coventry Sphinx and Dunkirk and Alliance football should be secured for another season.

One good omen, Coleshill have only ever been relegated once in their 126 year history, fingers crossed that that record continues!

SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
Lee Chilton scored a late equaliser for Tividale as they drew 3-3 at home to Coleshill Town.

COLESHILL HERALD WROTE
COLESHILL were involved in a thrilling draw as their recent upturn in form continued.

The Colemen would have settled for a point before the game but, ultimately, were left to rue a last-gasp equaliser.

Carl Adams' men started very brightly and equalled fourth-place Tividale in every department.

Sam Wilson and Barry Fitzharris were outstanding in midfield and completely pulled all the strings allowing Coleshill to stretch their opponents almost at will.

They took the lead from a Sam Wilson free kick which was headed home by a revitalised Danny Carter.

Coleshill continued to play well but lack of concentration allowed Michael Woolman to ghost between Chris Charles and Ian Kimble to prod home an equaliser.

Coleshill looked deflated after the equaliser but managed to hold out for the remainder of the half.

Coleshill looked apprehensive at the start of the second half and Woolman headed his second goal to put Tividale in front.

Things got worse when Fitzharris was sent off for his second yellow, but Coleshill seem to have found some inner belief and levelled things up.

Steve Hakner sent a long through ball to Carter and his cross found Wilson, who had sprinted from the halfway line, and he fired home.

Coleshill regained control of the game and were by far the better team and took the lead in injury time as Anton Astley broke from his own half and crossed for Richard Gregory who volleyed home.

Coleshill thought they had won it but were left stunned as Tividale were given too much space down the right and Lee Chilton got on the end of a cross to score an equaliser.
