Casey is off to a flying start as Coleshill rediscover form
COLESHILL manager Paul Casey secured his first win as boss as Coleshill secured victory at Kirby on Tuesday night.

Casey's men started brightly and Kirby were reduced to ten men inside three minutes after Danny Carter was hauled to the ground.

Coleshill dominated proceedings after that but were stunned when Kirby opened the scoring after 25 minutes.

It took Coleshill some time to regain their composure but Jon Powis lifted them by netting the equaliser.

The midfielder struck an effort just outside the penalty area into the roof of the net after great work down the right flank by Lewis Bishop.

The second half provided a thrilling spectacle for fans with chances at both ends.

Coleshill keeper Paul Hathaway was called upon to make a couple of great saves.

At the other end, James Travis should have made it two when he broke the offside trap and rounded the keeper before shooting over.

Coleshill deservedly took the lead when Travis beat a couple of players before shooting hard and low across goal and into the net to secure a deserved win.

REPORT By Paul Billing
Coleshill started very brightly and we soon putting the Kirby rear guard under a lot of pressure and after only three minutes Danny Carter broke clear of the defence but was hauled to the ground as he was about to shoot, the referee had no doubts and sent the Kirby man to the dressing rooms after deeming that he was the last man. Coleshill dominated proceeding for the first twenty minutes holding procession and playing some delightful football but the ten men of Kirby got stronger as the game proceeded working extremely hard. Kirby soon got a reward for all their efforts after some shoddy defending they managed to work an opening scoring at the near post, although there was some confusion as to whether the ball had crossed the line.

It took Coleshill some time to regain their composure but Jon Powis gave them a brilliant boost shooting from just outside the penalty area into the roof of the net giving Shilliam in the Kirby goal no chance after great work down the right flank by Lewis Bishop.

The second half was a great period of football with incidents all over the pitch Hathaway was called upon to make a couple of great saves, James Travis should of made it two when he broke the offside trap rounded the keeper before shooting over and the referee took a tumble to the amusement of the paying public.

Coleshill deservedly took the lead when Travis beat a couple of players before shooting hard and low across goal and into the far side of the goal. Coleshill still had lots of hard work to do just to hold off a spirited Kirby but this was a good strong performance by the Colemen who now travel to Dunkirk on Saturday full of confidence.

It's So Tight At The Bottom
This cracking result lifts Coleshill out of the relegation zone, but only just! Town are now 16th in the table, four places above that bottom three but have now played more games than anyone else. Ellesmere are getting left behind but only three points seperate the next six teams all of which have at least one game in hand, with Continental Star having five games in hand. Some tough times ahead but Paul Casey is off to a good start with four points from his two games so far. Keep up the good work!
