SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
Alvechurch warmed up for tomorrow's Bank Holiday derby at Studley with a resounding 3-0 win at Coleshill Town. There was little to choose between the sides in the opening period, other than a 17th minute effort from Jamie Spencer for the visitors. But Church dominated the second-half chances and it came as no surprise when they doubled their lead on 64 minutes. A trip on Jazz Luckie resulted in a penalty and although debutant Nathan Caines' spot kick was saved, he tucked away the rebound. It was Luckie who rounded off the scoring four minutes from time, rifling the ball home for what was the pick of the goals.

COLESHILL HERALD WROTE

COLESHILL produced a shocking performance as they were put to the sword by Alvechurch on Saturday.

The home side started well enough.

Chris Lloyd shot wide of the post while James Travis weaved and turned in the six yard box but was unable to get his shot away.

From then on it was all Alvechurch, scoring three times.

Coleshill's only reply came in the dying seconds when Jake Morrell thundered a shot against the cross bar.
