SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
Strugglers Coleshill Town staged a dazzling fightback to draw 2-2 with Tipton Town. Nathan Waite and Karl Edwards had fired the visitors into a two-goal interval lead but Chris Lloyd and James mutton levelled in the second half.

Match Report
This was the tenth time the two sides had met and Coleshill had been on the losing side each time. At half time that abysmal record was on course to continue but Coleshill found some grit from somewhere and scored twice to register a first ever point.
The game started evenly enough but two quick goals mid way through the half put the visitors in total control. Nathan Waite had time to pick his spot as the whole defence stood still expecting an off side flag than never came. A slick move then fell to Karl Edwards who calmly finished for 2-0. Paul Hathaway then made a couple of good saves to keep the score down as Tipton ploughed forward. The visitors keeper was obviously a stand-in player as he looked lost between the sticks but Coleshill never got near to testing him in a poor 45 minutes.
Chris Lloyd came on for the start of the second half and immediately his pace caused the visitors defence all sorts of problems. Tipton still looked the better side but the best move of the game got Coleshill back into the game. Scott James ran down a long ball and got to the bye line. He pulled the ball back to Jon Powis who immediately fed Chris Lloyd, who found the bottom corner with a fine shot, game on! Coleshill had a good shout for a hand ball penalty but the referee waved away Towns' appeals. Powis shot wide and Lloyd hit the side netting as Coleshill stepped up the heat. Ashley Bradshaw came across the pitch to take a left footed free kick, the ball floated straight down the keepers throat but the stand-in dropped the ball at the feet of James Mutton who tapped in for his first ever Coleshill goal. With their tails up Coleshill should have gone on to win the match but fair play to Tipton who rallied and had several chances to nick the win in the last few minutes.
An important point gained and with two home games to come the chances of remaining in the Alliance for another season are finally looking very good!
