Saturday 28th September 2013
Midland Alliance
Coleshill Town 0 v 0 Rocester
Attendance: 62.

Team: Paul Hathaway, Leon Weller, Dan Dineen, Luke Edwards, Danny Douglas, Nick Ellis (Barry Fitzharris), Jake Murrall (Oliver Casey), Danny Tymon, Chris Gumery, Dean Rathbone, Chris Lloyd (Ryan Nash).

After putting 6 past Griff last week Coleshill wouldn't have found the back of the net if they had still been playing now! In an instantly forgettable game the closest Town got to breaking the dead lock was when Luke Edwards hit the woodwork twice in quick succession in the first half. Rocester were a better side than their league position would suggest and had some moments of their own but home keeper Paul Hathaway had little to do all afternoon. Luckily, the visitors best player by a country mile was their right full back who defended supremely and had a couple of shots at goal after marauding forward. Coleshill's best player on the other hand was Danny Douglas who, playing in the centre back role, missed nothing and was quick to clear up any danger. Dean Rathbone tested the keeper a couple of times but looked frustrated at his lack of service and Chris Gumery could have won the match late on but his header was well saved. Substitute Ryan Nash smashed a shot goalward but in a summary of the game, it hit one of his own players. In truth not many home players could say they had played to the best of their ability. A draw but Coleshill will have to be better if they are to get anything from the game Tuesday night against Stourport Swifts.
