Match Report
To win 13 straight games in this league you have got to have something about you! Tividale from the off had Coleshill under pressure! Bigger, stronger, quicker and so confident that with that tremendous run behind them, this was just another win waiting to happen! A goal at this stage and Coleshill could have caved in but they held firm and slowly, ever so slowly, edged their way into the game. Despite Tividale's dominance in those early stages, home keeper Paul Hathaway was rarely troubled as every player in front of him put in a shift. Stuart How shot wide, Michael Wardle's goal bound shot was blocked for a corner and How again headed into Hathaway's arms but Coleshill started to attack themselves and forced two free kicks right on the edge of the visitors box. First Chris Lloyd then Dean Rathbone sent the deadball's disappointingly over the bar! Danny Tymon shot from 25 yards that tested the keeper then on the half hour mark Coleshill took the lead. The Dale keeper looked favourite to get to a Lloyd through ball but Matt Brown nipped in touching the ball beyond the stopper and rolled the ball into an empty net. Only the ninth goal Tividale have conceded in 14 games. The game was much more even now. Jason Chilton crossed and Hathaway picked out of the air as How waited to head home, Tymon shot again but his powerful effort was straight at the keeper. Jack Hullin cleared a dangerous cross by Wardle then Hathaway pushed a Downing shot round the post for a corner and Huckfield headed the ball into Hathaway's arms as the half came to an end.
Tividale upped the ante in the second half but Coleshill back four was magnificent all afternoon and kept the league leaders at bay reducing them to long range efforts. Matt Brown back heeled the ball into the path of Lloyd but his shot was gathered by Price and from their next attack Tividale levelled the scores. On 51 minutes David Bellis shot powerfully and Hathaway parried but Nathan Waite reacted the quickest and squeezed the ball into the net from a tight angle. Downing shot again from distance and Hathaway had to dive to gather at the foot of the post. A moment of controversy occurred as the Tividale keeper came out of his box to clear a Coleshill through ball challenged by Chris Gumery. Tividale reacted badly as they thought it was a bad challenge and Gumery reacted badly as he thought the keeper had made a meal of it! It was left to the referee to sort out and two yellow cards were shown! Waite then shot over from a great position. Hathaway saved from substitute Chris Rathbone and then Waite as Tividale went in search of a winner but Coleshill had the bit between their teeth now and never gave an inch! Leon Weller made a great run down the right and his shot made the keeper work hard to save. Chilton's inswinging free kick was headed on by Mark Smith but Hathaway picked the ball out of the air. Lloyd had a great chance to take the points as he was through one on one with the keeper but Price stood tall and saved Lloyds attempted chip. In the dying seconds Leon Weller made a great game saving tackle that summed up Coleshill's never say die attitude and seconds later he was at the other end shooting from 30 yards bringing out another good save from Price.
A great point, a battling performance, a real team effort!

THE RUN ENDS AT COLESHILL
By Leon Murray

The run of wins may have ended but the unbeaten run remains and looking back, a point at Coleshill Town was not a bad result.
The visitors shaded the early play but were unable to convert the chances they created. While at the other end Coleshill's only chances came courtesy of a couple of Dean Rathbone free kick's that never troubled Tividale keeper Charles Price's goal.

But it was Coleshill that opened the scoring with forward Matt Brown making the most of some unusual indecision in the Tividale defence and firing home on 25 minutes. The rest of the half just drifted along with no great goal threat from either side and it ended with a slender lead to Coleshill

Half Time Coleshill Town 1-0 Tividale

Tividale obviously needed to step up their game to avoid a first defeat of the season and their positive start to the half was rewarded on 51 minutes when a Michael Wardle effort was parried away by home keeper Paul Hathaway but it fell straight to the man in form Nathan Waite and his shot back across the keeper went in via the far post.

Tividale now sensed the chance to extend their winning run and piled on the pressure. But you just felt that a win today was not meant to be as chance after chance went begging. While though for most of the time the Coleshill defence were stretched to the limit they were still able to fashion a few of their own opportunities to grab a winner.

In the end Tividale were never able to match the performance of a week earlier at Quorn but credit must go to Coleshill Town who deservedly took a point from the game.

Full Time: Coleshill Town 1-1 Tividale
