Match Report
By Craig Hamilton

The score line maybe flatters the home side a bit but this was a good game between two very good sides. A thoroughly entertaining, footballing game played on a slippery surface, a great advert for non-league football.
In the first half Shane Benjamin had a header from a Dean Rathbone cross well saved. Simeon Cobourne blazed over the bar from 12 yards, Tom Weale sent a diving header wide of the post. At the other end Chris Jay saved a well struck volley from the Mikes and the keeper watched a similar volley fly over the bar. On 33 minutes Boldmere came closest to breaking the deadlock when No10 cannoned the ball of the bar. Cobourne had the ball in the net as he finished off a Weale long throw and a Danny Douglas flick on, but the effort was offside. Weale had a header tipped over the bar but Coleshill finally took the lead on the stroke of half time. Benjamin flicked a header on to Cobourne who controlled the ball, beat his marker and hammered the ball into the top corner. Half Time 1-0.

Again in the second half there was little to choose between the sides. The visiting keeper punched a Rathbone cross off Benjamin's head, Chris Lloyd ran onto a great Douglas pass but hit the effort straight at the keeper. Coleshill increased their lead on70 minutes when Rathbone worked an opening down the left, fed Danny Tymon who passed it on to Benjamin who danced past the defence and shot home low past the keeper. Danny Tymon's shot was saved with the keepers feet and the rebound fell to Matt Gasper who couldn't quite force the ball home. With ten minutes left Boldmere saw a free kick saved by Chris Jay but seconds later the game was beyond them when Tymon won the ball in midfield, released Benjamin who fed Lloyd wide right. The winger cut inside and calmly sidefooted the ball home 3-0. Benjamin had the ball in the net again on 85 minutes but was flagged offside and would have been unjust on a gallant Boldmere side who gave their all.

Coleshill defended really well and made the most of the chances that came there way. The defeat to Lye was just a blip and was quickly forgotten as business was back to normal.
