Coleshill Town came from behind as they ran out 2-1 winners at Walsall Wood. Max Black handed the Staffordshire side a fourth minute lead but second half efforts from Shane Benjamin and Chris Lloyd ensured it was the visitors who took the points.

COLESHILL HERALD WROTE
Lloyd banks Coleshill victory to stay in touch with leaders

COLESHILL gained rich reward for a fine second-half display as they came from behind to pick up three points at Walsall Wood.

Town fell behind inside three minutes as Wood's Drew Aiton powered down the right and his ball across the face of the six-yard box was touched home by Max Black.

Coleshill almost equalised on eight minutes as a Daniel Douglas free-kick flicked the outside of the post before two efforts from Joey Butlin flashed just wide for Wood at the other end.

Town again came close on the half-hour, Chris Lloyd's first-time effort bringing a brilliant half-stop from Mario Kisiel and, as the ball rolled towards goal, the keeper reached out a long arm to get to the loose ball first.

But the visitors did manage to find a leveller just before half-time as Shane Benjamin strode through on goal and calmly slotted past the advancing Kisiel.

Wood came within inches of regaining the lead two minutes into the second half as Aiton's scorching 30-yard drive cannoned off the inside of the post and away to safety with keeper Chris Jay beaten.

Three minutes later, Coleshill came almost as close, as Kisiel took the pace off Lloyd's low drive but it would still have gone in if not for Craig Deakin's goal-line clearance.

From there it was all Coleshill as Tom Weale brought a great save from Kisiel and fired another effort just over, while the keeper made an extraordinary save with his leg to keep out Lloyd's deflected low cross--shot.

But Coleshill's pressure finally paid dividends on 64 minutes as Lloyd brought a ball over the top under control with a sublime first touch, followed by an exquisite lob that gave Kisiel no chance.

Kisiel kept Wood in it with a stunning save from a Benjamin header before the hosts had a loud shout for a penalty waved away when Butlin was pulled back in the area.

Wood's last chance of rescuing a point saw Ben Evans' rising drive touched over by Chris Jay and Coleshill could have won by more but Simon Colbourne hit the post and saw an injury-time effort cleared off the line by Deakin.
