One of only two games in the Premier Division saw Coleshill Town won 3-0 at Causeway United. Dean Rathbone hit a 17th minute opener with substitute Simeon Cobourne and striker Shane Benjamin adding to the tally in the final 20 minutes.

Match Report
Chairman Paul Billing said this week "We are not firing on all cylinders at the moment." and that is true, there is still so much more to come from this team but, they look strong in every department and have options with a big squad. The new addition, Craig Milligan, a left full back from Sutton, looks a quality acquisition and fitted seamlessly into the team, and Town were too good for Causeway despite the absence of the suspended duo Danny Tymon and Matt Brown.

The strong cross field wind hampered any attractive football with the home side coping better with the conditions but when Coleshill got the ball to feet they looked capable of scoring at will. Causeway hit the woodwork twice with shots from distance by Matt Gardiner and Spencer Blackham and Chris Jay had to palm away a wind assisted free kick from Richard Robinson. Coleshill took the lead on 17 minutes with the best move of the game so far. Jon Jones won the ball in midfield and fed Tom Weale wide left and when he got the ball back again he slipped the ball into the path of Dean Rathbone who toe poked the ball past the keeper and Shane Benjamin was there to make sure it crossed the line. Just who got the final touch is between them! The home keeper saved a left foot shot from Chris Lloyd at the foot of the post and was there again to deny Rathbone with a similar effort to his goal. Barry Fitzharris hit a screamer just over, the lad desperately needs a goal!

The second half wasn't pretty to watch with the swirling wind making life difficult. Jones fed Lloyd to leave him one on one with the keeper but his chip was finger tipped away for a corner. Debutant Craig Milligan had a great chance to be an instant hero but he headed over from in front of goal. When substitute Simeon Cobourne gets ball to feet he usually delivers and when he was sent free by Jones, the youngster made no mistake shooting under the keeper for 2-0 on 70 minutes. Cobourne's pace was a constant danger and in another run he would have got a penalty had he gone down but settled for a corner. In the dying seconds Barry Fitzharris slid a ball through for Shane Benjamin. The striker still had lots to do but he held the ball up well, shook off his marker and shot home for Town's third.

A fine win that the scoreline maybe flatters Coleshill a bit but on the day they were the better side and well deserved the three points! Up to sixth in the league and still games in hand but it's nice to keep out of the limelight and just quietly get the job done! Tipton up next on Wednesday night!
