Match Report
Coleshill made real hard work of this game and never fully imposed themselves on a young, but hard working home side, although the winner came during Town's best period. Luke Edwards was missing due to the first of a three match ban, Chris Lloyd returned after a brief period away and was on the bench along side new signing, midfielder Chris Hughes.

Coleshill started OK and could have took the lead when a Tom Weale free kick was headed back across goal by Danny Douglas but Shane Benjamin couldn't quite get to it. But Coleshill were being outworked and outfought by a very determined Sphinx side that at times played some neat passing football. The home side took the lead on the quarter hour mark when a shot from Jackson Downie took a wicked deflection and spun over the stranded Chris Jay in the Coleshill goal. A lacklustre Town were struggling to get a foothold in the game but they finally got up a head of steam as half time approached. A Will Worthington corner was headed back across goal by Craig Milligan and Benjamin's goal bound header was cleared off the line. Benjamin then sent Matt Brown clear on a one on one with the keeper but O'Neill stood up and did well to thwart Brown. Blenkinsopp forced a good save from Jay at the other end but Coleshill equalised on 43 minutes when Tom Weale and Ryan Nash combined well down the right hand side, the latter crossing into the box for Benjamin to sweep home despite O'Neill getting a hand to the shot.

Town started the second half much brighter but the killer ball in the final third was missing. Benjamin almost scored again but O'Neill got a finger touch away as the striker attempt to round the stopper. O'Neill was in action again as he only just beat Matt Brown to a ball outside the box, Dean Rathbone tried to lob the resulting clearance into an empty net but his effort went over the bar. Danny Tymon shot well over before Sphinx almost caught Town on the break when a fine driving run by Luke Downes found Blenkinsopp who shot wide and then Ashley Wilks tested Jay with a fine run and shot. Coleshill were in the ascendancy but couldn't find the break through and were caught once again on the break but this time it was much more costly. Downes again surged through the Town midfield and hit a shot from 20 yards that eluded Jay and gave the home side the lead again on 72 minutes. Coleshill best chance to redeem themselves fell to substitute Simeon Cobourne who hit a cracking shot that O'Neill somehow got a fingertip to it, pushing the effort onto the bar.

Not one of Coleshill's better days! The quality in the side is undisputable but they seem to get outworked by lesser sides and then resort to the long ball game that just doesn't suit them!
