MATCH REPORT
Coleshill maintained their five match unbeaten run, but only just! This wasn't one of their better performances, nowhere near the heights of Quorn and Boldmere, but they shown character to snatch a point when all seemed lost!
Fifth versus fourth was always going to be a close match and so it was for the full 90 minutes! Coleshill edged the first half but couldn't find a break through! Ricky Cutting saw an effort cleared off the line by a defender with the keeper beaten. Dean Rathbone had the ball in the net but was adjudged off side, Craig Milligan shot wide, Danny Douglas headed the same and a great run into the box by Leon Weller ended with a disappointing effort hitting the trees behind the goal. Little had been seen of the visitors as an attacking force but they came more into the game as the half wore on. Michael Reeve hit the side netting, Wade Ball hit a thunderous shot that tested Chris Jay in the Coleshill goal, and Sam Wilson struck an effort straight down the throat of the home keeper.

Kirby were the better side in the second half and played some impressive football but neither keeper was particularly busy. Reeve had a goalbound shot blocked, Ryan Seal took a free kick quickly and only just lifted the ball over the bar, Dan Sheehan went down in the box hoping for a penalty but non was awarded. Then on 58 minutes Kirby took a lead that looked as though it would be enough to take the points, as Man Of The Match Ryan Seal headed in a corner at the near post. Milligan flicked goalward a Will Worthington corner but the visitors keeper parried to safety. Substitute Simeon Cobourne didn't have his usual impact due to some organised and dogged defending but he did have a shot blocked and another effort saved. Kirby could have doubled the lead when a great run and cross by Reeve was only just too high for Sheehan at the far post with the goal at his mercy. With time running out and chances at a premium Tom Weale came on as sub and almost immediately had an opportunity to launch one of his long throw-ins! The otherwise immaculate visitors defence were caught napping and the throw landed in the six yard box and Danny Douglas was first to react as he hooked the ball into the net on the stroke of 90 minutes. Shane Benjamin could have stole the points but his shot was hit straight at the keeper, and had it found the target it would have been really harsh on an already disappointed Kirby Muxloe side.

A point in the end was very welcome! Coleshill have, and will, play much better than this but it's another game without defeat and keeps the points ticking over.
