Birmingham Senior Cup

COLESHILL Town are through to the semi-finals of the Birmingham Senior Cup after a thrilling penalty shoot-out success over Rushall.

Successful penalties from Dean Rathbone, Shane Benjamin, Tom Weale and Simeon Cobourne sealed a dramatic win against a full-strength Rushall side.

Weale and Benjamin had earlier scored to take the game into extra time while Coleshill also had skipper Danny Tymon sent off.

Manager Paul Casey said: "It was a fantastic victory for us. We didn't even have our strongest side out, a lot of them – like Rob Evans, Ricky Cutting, Mykel Beckley and Craig Milligan – were sat in the stands.

"Rushall had about 500 games worth of Football League experience on the pitch in Dele Adebola, keeper Cameron Belford and others.

"So it was a terrific effort from us and the work ethic and team spirit of the lads was just incredible. It's an exciting time. We have not lost since December 6 and we are going out and enjoying our football.

"We have a happy camp and that helps win football matches. We just want to keep going and stay happy."
