COLESHILL HERALD WROTE
Coleshill Begin To Find Their Form Again

Coleshill gained revenge for their opening day defeat at the hands of Kings Heath with an impressive 3-0 win. The scoreline doesn’t tell the whole story as Kings enjoyed the majority of possession for two thirds of the game but failed to seriously test Greg Allen in the home goal. Coleshill left it late with two goals in the final 20 minutes but, in that time, with the points in the bag, the confidence, missing over the last few games, came flowing back. The opening goal came from a flowing move involving Simon Chatwin and Mitch Thompson wide on the left. Frank Woodburn’s deep cross found captain Ant McManus who volleyed home. Coleshill nearly extended their lead when they twice hit the post through leading scorer Duwayan Mardenborough and Dave Wilson. The home team had to wait until the last 20 minutes before securing the points when Wilson caught a defender in possession and quickly fed Mitchell Thompson who shot home from close range. Coleshill then started to perform like a top six side and their enterprising play was rewarded with the third goal. Ben Usher nipped in between two defenders and hit a right foot shot into the far corner of the net.
