Monday 1st April 2002
Midland Combination Premier
Coleshill Town 0 v 2 Coventry Marconi

Team: Greg Allen, Errol Black, Frank Woodburn, Chris Gray (James Connor), Ray Scandrett, Simon Bradbury, Dave Wilson, Chris Kavanaugh, Duwayan Mardenborough, Carl Meah (Tony Gormley), Mitchell Thompson (Lee O’Brien).

COLESHILL HERALD WROTE
Coleshill were devastated when the whole of their midfield were unavailable due to injuries for Monday’s game at home to Marconi. Two 17 year olds were drafted in from the Reserve team to give Coleshill their youngest line-up for some time. Their inexperience showed as early as the second minute when forward PJ Gordon, recently on trial at Bedworth United, was given a free run at goal and he calmly chipped the keeper from just inside the box. Coleshill never got to grips with the game until the experienced Tony Gormley was introduced with 20 minutes to go but by that time it was to late as Gordon had scored his second of the game in a goalmouth scramble. Duwayan Mardenborough and James Connor squandered chances and an impressive looking Marconi side ran out deserved winners.
