COLESHILL HERALD WROTE
Coleshill Cruise On As Reeves Suffers Nightmare Start To Powermen Job

It was a baptism of fire for new Hams manager Mark Reeves as he watched his side demolished by table topping Coleshill Town at Pack Meadow. Tim Hilton struck four times as title chasing Town added to Hams recent woes and left Reeves pondering the job in hand. But things could have been different for Hams as they survived an early disallowed goal and then took the lead in the 11th minute. Andy Patrick ran onto a clever through ball to finish from the edge of the box. The goal sprung Coleshill into life and Tim Hilton equalised from a corner two minutes later. The Powermen then had a goal disallowed for off side themselves and five minutes later Hilton grabbed his and Coleshill's second. Coleshill piled on the pressure and eventually scored again before half time when Dave Burke swung in a deep cross and Mitchell Thompson scored with a glancing header. The second half began as the first had finished and on 50 minutes a free kick on the angle of the penalty area was taken left footed by Micky Clarke. His kick saw Thompson cut across the front of his marker to score from eight yards with a deft flick. Ham's showed character to come back at Town and Peter hit the bar with a stinging shot. But Coleshill continued to press and Hilton completed his hat-trick in the 70th minute with a bullet header from a Clarke cross. Hams Hall never gave up and Mark Carleton stung Coleshill with an unstoppable volley from another good cross from Liddington to make it 5-2. This only resulted in Coleshill stepping up a gear and within three minutes had scored again. A poor clearance went to Tony Gormley on the half way line and he immediately headed the ball straight back towards the Hams penalty area. Hilton reacted the quickest as the ball bounced over the centre half. The inform Hilton was never going to miss and as he ran onto the ball he hit a powerful from 18 yards with his right foot again leaving the keeper with no chance.
