First point on the board and a better performance but Coleshill are still way off the mark and will improve as the season progresses! The two games so far have been against newly promoted sides and as you would expect both have worked their socks off, diving into tackles, chasing down lost causes and throwing their bodies in front of the ball.
Last seasons success was built around an excellent defensive record with just 47 goals conceded in 42 games, a ratio of 1.1 goals a game but already Town have conceded seven goals in their two games with some haphazard defending!
Town started well enough but were a goal down on just six minutes when a deep free kick was bundled home at the far post by Luke Tozer as keeper Paul Hathaway and his defence waited for each other to take charge! Chris Hughes had a shot deflected for a corner then a Luke Edwards effort was cleared off the line, Tom Weale sent a free kick over the bar then Danico Johnson's effort was deflected for another corner as Coleshill went in search of an equaliser. The corner was cleared to Leon Weller who crossed from deep and Edwards, who was still up front following the corner, flicked on for Luke Barlone who coolly slotted the ball home with his left foot on 25 minutes. Town almost immediately increased the lead when a Hughes cross was met by Weale who's shot was deflected inches wide of the post. Coleshill did increase the lead on 29 minutes when Danico Johnson got to the ball before keeper and defender and was left with a tap in! Hathaway tipped over the bar a Tozer header before the home team levelled on the stroke of half time. Leon Fray took up a position on the edge of the box for a corner and was in the perfect place for the clearance, you can't fault the finish as his effort whizzed past Hathaway but he was allowed so much time it was untrue!
The second half was forgettable! Coleshill had the upper hand but couldn't find that clear cut chance that would seal the game while Bardon defended like their lives depended on it and might have stolen the points with the odd break away! Chris Hughes came the closest for Coleshill as he saw a header hit the post and when Luke Edwards forced the ball home he was adjudged off side although that decision looked harsh! In the dying seconds Hathaway floated in a free kick from deep, Luke Barlone headed on and Hughes lifted the ball over the keeper but unfortunately, over the bar as well!
We move on to the FA Cup now when Coleshill entertain Ellesmere Rangers at The Lamb, Tamworth on Friday night.

Bardon Earn Point From Hard Fought Draw !!
By Adrian Bishop
Bardon Hill drew their second game in four day`s , gaining a point after a battling performance against last season`s runners-up , Coleshill Town.
Bardon were forced into changes in the starting line up , due to unavailability , Ryan Pearce and Jack Millward coming into midfield.
As was to be expected Coleshill came racing out of the blocks , looking to avenge their defeat at Sporting Khalsa on Saturday. It was the home team though who opened the scoring with their first attack after just six minutes , when a free kick out wide on the right was played into the area by Josh Eggington and was met at the far post by Luke Tozer who powered the ball home.
Coleshill levelled the scores after twenty five minutes when ex- Barwell man Luke Barlone scored and it got worse for Bardon five minutes later when Josh O`Brien came out to clear a ball but as a result of a heavy challenge lost the ball , leaving Dianco Johnson with a empty net to give the visitors the lead. More worryingly was that the game was held up for five minutes as O`Brien rececived treatment to his back injury which he had sustained a few minutes earlier.
Bardon were called into some heroic defending as they tried to keep the ball away from their clearly injured keeper , but when he was called upon O`Brien did not let them down. As the game went deep into the added time at the end of the half , Bardon won a corner and the ball fell to Leon Fray some twenty yards out and he curled a lovely shot into the top corner of the Coleshill net to level the scores.
The second half saw Bardon produce a performance of grit and determination as Coleshill tried to take advantage of the injured Bardon keeper , every player dug deep to Coleshill out and keep the visitors defence on their toes when they had chance. The game finished 2-2 and Bardon can now look forward to a return to FA Cup action after a absence of three years , on Saturday , when they face Dunkirk at Home in the Extra Preliminary Round.
