Westfields worked hard to gain a 1-1 away draw at Coleshill Town when a 44th minute equaliser from Jamie Cuss gave Westfields a valuable point after Coleshill had taken a 27th minute lead through Mykel Beckley. It was nice to see Mykel Beckley back after injury and he added to the strike threat but this was another poor performance as Coleshill's up and down League campaign continues!

Westfields produced a hard-working second-half team performance to come away with a creditable 1-1 draw in the MFL last night at FA Cup Giantkillers Coleshill Town.

Westfields trailed to a 27th minute opening goal from Mykle Beklie who put the home side ahead but Westfields drew level on the stroke of half time when Ekene Amadi laid on a perfect pass for leading goalscorer Jamie Cuss who swept home the equaliser from 10 yards.

The second half was an end-to-end affair and Cuss and Aidan Thomas both went close for the visitors while Coleshill were dangerous on the break but Jay Saunston was outstanding at the heart of the Westfields defence.

Westfields thought they had won the game when Kane Kahaki headed home but the referee ruled that Aidan Thomas’ cross had gone out of play.

Coleshill hit back late in the game and had a couple of chances which keeper John Pugh and the Westfields defence worked overtime to maintain a deserved away point.
