Coleshill go into Saturday's FA Vase game against Uttoxeter on the back of a 2-1 win over Westfields in the Midland Premier last Saturday.

Westfields poor home results continued with a defeat at home to Coleshill after Reece Leek put the visitors ahead early in the second half. Ben Miller equalised with a cracker ten minutes later. However Ricardo Reid put Coleshill back in front with fifteen minutes remaining, his first goal for Town. Westfields then put Coleshill under pressure and Craig Jones, Sam Gwynne and Dan Hill all hit the Coleshill woodwork in search of an equaliser which never materialised.

"We deserved the win," said Manager Paul Casey. "It could have been 8-4 to us! We rode our luck at times but we also missed a lot of chances.
I was delighted with the win though. Herefordshire is a tough place to go and so we will take that result all day long."

MISSED CHANCES COST WESTFIELDS
WESTFIELDS ROBBED BY WOODWORK

Westfields suffered another Midland League Premier Division defeat when they failed to win at home as their disappointing home form continued with a 2-1 defeat by visiting Coleshill Town at allpay.park on Saturday.

Westfields however gave a much-improved display and were very unlucky not to take something from the game as they worked tremendously hard but had nothing to show for their endeavours against the visiting Coleshill Town side.

With the wind in their faces Westfields started brightly and Dan Hill had an early chance to put Westfields ahead when, after a good build-up between Craig Jones, Sam Gwynne and Ben Miller, Danny Hill shot across the face of goal with only the visitors’ keeper to beat.

Phil Glover then wasted a great opportunity when he blasted the ball high and wide, then Jamie Cuss also failed from close-range.

At the other end, John Hopkins in the Westfields goal dealt well with 2 Coleshill efforts as the teams went in goal-less at the break.

After the interval Coleshill broke the deadlock in the 57th minute when Reece Leek put them ahead from close-range after Westfields had failed to clear their lines.

Westfields came back strongly and Craig Jones smashed a shot against the Coleshill post but Westfields drew level in the 63rd minute when Gwynne and Jones set up Ben Miller from 12 yards and his right-foot shot flew into the top corner of the net.

Westfields then had 3 great opportunities to go into the lead but Jones, Danny Hill and Sam Gwynne all hit the woodwork from close-range and Cuss sent a shot over the bar.

It was against the run of play that the visitors took the lead when a break-away saw John Hopkins parry a shot from Craig Milligan and it fell invitingly for Ricardo Reid who made no mistake from close-range to put Coleshill 2-1 in front.

Westfields then went all out for a deserved equaliser but Paul Hathaway made a tremendous save low to his left hand side to deny Ben Mlller, then a Craig Jones shot was scrambled away before Jamie Cuss shot over the bar from 6 yards when he should have scored a deserved equaliser. In the end Coleshill Town were glad to hear the final whistle in a game Westfields will rue missed chances which cost them a valuable win.
