SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
Coleshill Town were 4-2 winners at home to Stourport Swifts even though it was the visitors who opened the scoring through Umit Eminoglu on 15 minutes. Gio Dainty, Josh Quaynor and Ricardo Reid fired the home side into a 3-1 interval lead with Mykel Beckley adding a fourth soon after the restart with a deft lob over the Swifts keeper. James Hill struck a second for the visitors midway through the half but Stourport never looked like reeling in their hosts.

MATCH REPORT
Coleshill got back to winning ways in the league by doing the double over Stourport Swifts on Boxing Day! Town normally don't do to well against Swifts, even in last season's record breaking runners up campaign, Coleshill lost both league games and this win was the first ever at Pack Meadow. There is definitely some entertaining football on show down Packington Lane these days with visiting teams loving the 3G surface, and there is usually plenty of goals to enjoy! Both sides had chances in an end to end start but it was the visitors that took the lead on 14 minutes when Eminoglu's off target shot was retrieved by Maund who set up Eminoglu for a tap in. Coleshill responded well and Ricardo Reid saw a shot blocked and the follow up go just wide but the visitors could have been two up but for the combination of a fine save by Paul Hathaway and the foot of the post prevented a Hill free kick from crossing the line. Coleshill levelled the scores on 31 minutes when a Tom Weale long throw found Giovanni Dainty in the box and his turn and shot found the corner of the net through a sea of legs. Eight minutes later and Town took the lead. Weale was needlessly pushed in the back when there appeared to be no danger. Josh Quaynor took the free kick from only a couple of yards outside the box and his excellent curving shot went in off the post. Coleshill were on top now and a third goal arrived just before the break. James Williams sent Mykel Beckley down the right flank and his cross was met at the far post by Reid who smashed the ball into the roof of the net.
Coleshill started the second half in the ascendancy and increased the lead on 51 minutes with a fine goal. Tom Weale casually lifted the ball over the Swifts defence for the on-running Mykel Beckley who just as casually lifted the ball over the advancing goalkeeper 4-1 game over! Stourport then had their best period of the game and deservedly scored a second goal on 69 minutes when a cross from the left was only partially cleared and fell nicely for Hill who picked his spot from the edge of the six yard box. Swifts pushed for a third which would have made the last 20 minutes interesting! Hathaway saved from Maund then Coleshill nearly killed the game but keeper Richards saved well from Nathaniel Lewars and the bar saved the day from Quaynor's wind assisted free-kick. In the dying seconds Maund got to the bye line and his cross found Hill whose goalbound shot was cleared off the line by Rob Evans.

Coleshill Town 4 Stourport Swifts 2 MLP Saturday 26th December

Swifts looked at home on Coleshill's artificial pitch, and Ben Maund has a goal disallowed for offside after five minutes. Umit Eminoglu scored his first goal for Stourport when he bundled home at the far post after some good work from Joe Phillips.

Coleshill bounced back to take control with three goal in fifteen minutes before half time.

Giovanni Dainty levelled from 18 yards with a neat turn and shot, Full back Josh Quaynor fired in a free kick from the edge of the box off the post, and Ricardo Reid added a third on the stroke of half time.

Swifts again looked in control in the second half, but on 56 minutes Mykel Beckley scored an excellent fourth for his side with a clever lob over Richards from inside the box.

James Hill got one back for the Swifts with 20 minutes left, but could not force another to make the game interesting at the end.
