MATCH REPORT
Third against Fifth suggests a close game and so it panned out but this wasn't a dull end of season affair as both sides gave their all in probably the most entertaining game seen at Pack Meadow this season. Both sides had chances to win the game but Coleshill will be the more disappointed as they hit the woodwork twice and had two clear one on one's with the visiting goalkeeper.
Sporting showed why they will finish so high in the table in the early stages as the big, strong, powerful side dictated the pace of the game but it was Coleshill that should have opened the scoring as Sam Adkins won the ball in midfield and released Mykel Beckley down the right flank. His cross found Simeon Cobourne all alone in the box but the young striker shot wide. Meese, Bannister and Nisbitt were combining well! Bannister headed wide, then shot from distance straight at Town keeper Stuart Parsons. Luke Edwards volleyed a Sam Adkins corner just wide of the post. A great ball by Meese found Nisbitt at the far post who despite being off balance got his shot away and Parsons parried the effort, the ball falling for Rawley who shot well wide. Simeon Cobourne went down in the box and on another day would have been awarded a penalty. Reece Leek got to the bye line, his cross met by Mykel Beckley but his shot went just over the bar. Then a Beckley ball found Cobourne in the box and although he was forced wide he still managed to get a cross in which Leek headed wide. No score at half time but plenty of action.
Khalsa started the second half the brighter and forced Coleshill to defend deep. A Jackson free kick resulted in a goalmouth scramble and Robinson was on hand to thump the ball into the net for the lead on 48 minutes. The visitors were definitely on top and could have increased the lead but Parsons parried Nisbitt's volley. Coleshill slowly started to get back into the game. Cobourne chased a lost cause and then picked out midfield runner Sam Adkins who shot against the bar from the edge of the box. Nisbitt shot inches wide before Town equalised on the hour mark with a solo goal. Adkins picked the ball up from a throw in and there looked to be little danger but he waltzed past two defenders before shooting left foot from just inside the box and the low powerful effort went across the keeper and into the far corner of the net. Coleshill then enjoyed their best period and looked the more likely side to score again. Gio Dainty hit the post from a Beckley cross, Cobourne's goal bound shot was headed off the line by Franco. Rawley was just about to shoot but a Guy Clarke clearance came back off the post. Mykel Beckley had the ball in the net but was off side. Parsons saved from Bannister and a through ball by Craig Milligan to Cobourne was excellently intercepted by Franco, and an even better tackle by Robinson prevented Cobourne from scoring. Visiting keeper Gherasim tipped a Luke Edwards header over the bar. A Jackson cross was headed goalward by Meese but Parsons saved with his feet. With time running out Chris Gumery sent Cobourne through and he unselfishly passed to Mykel Beckley who was in oceans of room but the striker took a touch and Gherasim was out quickly to block his shot, then another Gumery ball was chested into the box by Cobourne but Franco got back to clear as Cobourne prepared to shoot and then Gherasim was way out of his box to clear off the toe of Beckley as Coleshill finished the stronger of the two sides.

Khalsa all but secured third place in the Midland Football League with a hard-earned point against fourth placed Coleshill.
Visiting the club’s resplendent artificial surface for the first time, the game was an up-tempo affair with plenty of goalmouth action.
Coleshill’s Simeon Colbourne should have done better with the first real chance of the game on 12 minutes, putting harmlessly wide of Mihai Gherasim’s post after a break down the right wing.
A header from Craig Bannister at the other end three minutes later from Marvin Nisbett’s cross went harmlessly wide and ten minutes later Coleshill’s Jesse Race came closer with a header of his own from Reece Leak’s corner.
Khalsa midfielder Brad Lawley should have done better on 28 minutes, blazing over the bar after Nisbett stumbled into the penalty area to pick up a good long pass from Carlo Franco.
And just before the break Mykel Beckley looped an effort over the bar from a dangerous position.
Just after the restart, Khalsa snatched the lead, Tes Robinson bundling the ball home after Bannister’s shot was blocked.
But Coleshill came storming back, five minutes after the goal Sam Adkins hit the bar on another dangerous break.
And on 61 minutes, Coleshill equalised, a good shot by Adkins from the edge of the area finding its way past Gherasim.
Two minutes later, Khalsa had Franco to thank for preserving parity as he cleared off the line from Colbourne.
At the other end, Guy Clark was fortunate to see his sliced clearance bounce back off his own goalframe under pressure from Lawley and Nisbett.
Some nifty defending by first Franco and then Robinson denied the troublesome Colbourne goalscoring opportunities two minutes apart as the game headed to a close.
And then Adkins almost won it for the home side, a volley flashing just wide.
