SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
A single goal proved enough for Coleshill Town's win at Highgate United. Mitchell Thompson outpaced the Highgate defence to fire in a homebound speculative cross/shot.

SOLIHULL NEWS WROTE
Gate Go Down In Drab Affair

If evidence was needed as to why these two sides are struggling at the wrong end of the Premiership table then this drab affair provided it. A display as dismal as the weather pushed Highgate further into the relegation mire with a catalogue of injuries giving scant cause for optimism. Gate, with Andy Gallagher making his debut up front, started brightly with Gary Roberts seeing a lob drift a yard wide before Keith Checketts and Lee Brosnan both had shots blocked in the box. Chris Hunt in the home goal was the busier of the two keepers twice saving well to deny Pencheon and Thompson but was left stranded on the 40th minute when Thompson's cross cum shot gave Coleshill the lead. Richard Lucy prevented the visitors from going further ahead when he headed off the line but Gate themselves rarely got an attempt on target but Lucy missed a great chance of an equaliser five minutes from the end, shooting over from just six yards.
