SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
Marconi March After Hat-Trick By Partridge
Mighty Marconi mopped up the points in their magnificent 7-0 win over Coleshill Town as hat-trick hero Chris Partridge led the Coventry side into second place. Ian Abercrombie gave the title front runners the perfect start to net a second minute opener. Tom Thacker then doubled the score for the hosts. Cartridge scored twice in ten minutes to make it 4-0 at the turnaround first rounding the keeper from Mark McSheffrey's through ball before heading in a Thacker cross. Coleshill rallied early in the second half until Marconi resumed the scoring in the last fifteen minutes. Abercrombie's corner provided Partridge's near-term. McSheffrey converted a penalty after Thacker was brought down and John Woodhouse completed the scoring.
