Season Review
After three years in charge this was the season that Manager Martin Sockett had his sights on the title. All was going well into January with Coleshill top of the league and only four defeats from 24 games. But Sockett was tempted away by the pull of VS Rugby, two leagues above, and although Loz Cairns and Mark Charnley tried to keep the challenge going, only five wins in their last fifteen games saw Coleshill finish a disappointing fifth some 18 points behind champions Worcester Athletico (Upton Town). Loz Cairns left for Massey Ferguson in the summer. Mick Brookes and Mike Thurman took charge for the start of the 1998/99 season.
