SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
Crash of the day saw contenders Coleshill Town suffer a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Highgate United. It was hat-trick hero Lee Martin who inflicted most damage to the former leaders with team mate Tony Shaw adding a tap-in.

SPORTS ARGUS WROTE
Coleshill Town were on the wrong end of the shock of the season after Highgate United's three frontrunners declared themselves fit. Lee Martin, Neil Kitchen and Gary Roberts had effectively been out of action for the past month through injuries. They returned with a vengeance and hit the Pack Meadow title chasers 4-0 away. Lee Martin missed a penalty but bagged a hat-trick while Neil Kitchen added a fourth. Highgate boss Jim Sims said "I think that our early season form showed what we are capable of doing on the field. We have suffered for the last month because all of our strikers were out."

SOLIHULL NEWS WROTE
Highgate In Top Form

Highgate produced a superb team performance to record a comfortable victory over second-placed Coleshill. Highgate, who were in top form, could even afford to miss a second half penalty in recording their highest score of the season and Lee Martin capped a fine afternoon with a deserved hat-trick. Lee Martin gave Gate the perfect start as he took advantage of some slipshod defending to knock home Lenny Taylor’s pass. Town keeper Glover was left helpless in the 22nd minute when Martin raced on to Morbey’s pass and found the net with a low drive. As Coleshill stepped up the pressure, Highgate were pushed further back into their own half. Then Martin put the result beyond doubt, side footing Mark Hodson’s long ball past Glover to complete his hat-trick. On 87 minutes substitute Steve Poller slipped the ball through for Neil Kitching to score with a firm drive in off the post. In the dying minutes, Glover produced a reaction save to prevent Scott Roberts scoring on his debut for Gate.
