SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
Substitute Paul Busst grabbed the all important goal to keep Knowle climbing the table in a 1-0 home win against Coleshill Town. Busst struck ten minutes from time following a rare mistake by the Coleshill defence. The visitors lost keeper Peter Manuel in the first half with a shoulder injury and it needed some solid defending to protect stand-in goalkeeper, manager Martin Sockett.

SOLIHULL TIMES WROTE
Victory Maintains Climb Up The Table

Knowle continued their push towards the top of the Endsleigh Midland Combination with a hard fought victory over Coleshill Town. An even first half saw both sides play good controlled football, with Knowle fullback Mark Robinson providing the highlight of the half racing clear of the defence to crash a tremendous shot against the bar. Town pushed Knowle back as the half progressed and only good defensive work by Paul Clarke and Conroy Gordon scored the scoreline blank. Two minutes before the break tragedy struck Knowle (should read Coleshill) as keeper Carvel (should read Manuel) was taken to hospital with a suspected broken collar bone after a Murdoch challenge and manager Martin Sockett took over the keepers jersey. The second half was once again an even contest, Town almost breaking the deadlock on 70 minutes. A mix-up in the Knowle defence presented Carmichael with a perfect opportunity to score, however his gentle lob rebounded off the crossbar to be cleared by Clarke. The introduction of the three Knowle subs, Paul Busst, Jon Johnson and Jason Harris injected fresh impetus into the Knowle attack and Busst finally broke the deadlock on 80 minutes latching on to a loose ball before smashing a first time shot past the diving Sockett.

*Jon Johnson previously played for Coleshill.
