SPORTS ARGUS WROTE
Highgate made a series of golden opportunities yet still found themselves ahead by two goals at the interval. They opened the scoring after only four minutes when a ball from Annand found Brady who turned and let fly with a 15 yard shot which Baker could only touch on its way into the net. A suicidal 32nd minute back pass by Cooke went straight to Brady who had the easy task of shooting into an empty net.
Half Time Highgate 2 v 0 Coleshill.
SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
Highgate United mad nightmarishly hard work of beating struggling Coleshill after threatening to run up a cricket score. Brady gave Highgate a fourth minute lead when he shot on the turn from 15 yards with a shot that goalkeeper Baker could only help into the net. Goals and chances went begging as Bodfish headed against the visitors crossbar and Brady and Annand sent efforts wide. A suicidal back-pass by Cooke after 32 minutes let in Brady who turned the ball into an empty net. Coleshill were by far the better side in the second half and their efforts were rewarded after 83 minutes when Johnson was left unmarked to scoop the ball over Masters.

Brady Brace Puts United In Charge
A first half double from Neil Brady enable Highgate to stretch their unbeaten league run to eight games and slip into fifth place in the table. But this was a far from convincing performance as the points were earned thanks only to a brave rear-guard action after the break. Once again keeper Andy Masters came to his side's recue with a string of important saves, and will a little more composure around the goal, the visitors could well have snatched a share of the spoils. Highgate got off to the perfect start with a goal after just four minutes as Wark and Robert Curley combined to present Brady with the chance to turn and strike the ball home firmly from 15 yards. However Gate's defence began to look uncomfortable under pressure with Masters snatching the ball away from Amory's toes and the impressive Johnson's overhead kick drifting a foot too high. But the problems eased in the 28th minute when Brady converted the easiest of chances from close range following Annand's run for goal. Conway's 20 yard drive in the 32nd minute bounced past the upright but from then on Coleshill enjoyed the better of the exchanges with Amory prominent as he twice forced Masters into brave saves and then snatched at a loose ball and wasted a scoring chance. Coleshill continued to press after the break but had to wait until the 83rd minute when Johnson finally found a way past Masters, chipping the keeper from Amory's headed pass. With time running out Highgate regained some composure and in the dying minutes Brady was denied his hat-trick as a well struck free kick came back off the crossbar.

Highgate Fail To Look Convincing
Highgate again failed to convince and threatened to throw away a 2-0 lead as they survived a tense finish with Coleshill. However Highgate continue to gather points with this victory pushing them up to fifth in the table. Leading scorer Neil Brady hit both Highgate's goals, bringing his season's tally to eleven. More worrying for manager Mike Neville was Highgate's failure to dominate the midfield. Lowly Coleshill had the better of the second half exchanges and were bitterly disappointed with the result. Brady gave Highgate the perfect start with a sweet 15 yard strike within four minutes of the kick off. And Coleshill looked set for a torrid afternoon when Brady headed Gary Annand's cross against the bar two minutes later. Annand fired inches wide following a strong 25th minute run. Three minutes later another surging run saw Annand's persistence rewarded as Brady scored. However, Coleshill's Amory and Johnson began to cause problems to a jittery Highgate defence and goalkeeper Andy Masters was forced into some crucial saves. Johnson's 83rd minute lob home was well deserved although Brady had cause to curse when his last minute free kick struck the crossbar.
