Coleshill started the game knowing that a win was needed and although varies shots came through from Murphy and Wilson they were going wide of the post. Stapenhill replied with a shot by Walker which again went wide of the goal. Coleshill battled on and eventually obtained the lead with a shot by McDonald which was chipped over Cheetham for the opening goal.

SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
A determined Stapenhill side fought back to equalise after Coleshill had taken the lead. Staunton was the scorer when he latched on to a clearance from the home defence to whip the ball home with glee.
