Coleshill took the lead when the persistence of Bailey forced an error in the Police defence and the ball ran loose to Burroughs who made no mistake. On the stroke of half time Whipps sent Bailey clear but Carmell was quick off his line to avert the danger.

SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
Dave Scriven help West Midlands Police get out of jail with an equaliser ten minutes from time. Coleshill had the better of the first half and took a deserved 18th minute lead through Burroughs. He fired home after Bailey had forced an error from the home defence. With ten minutes left, Police trio Kiernan, McMenamin and Shaw combined to set up Scriven for an unstoppable far post header.
