SPORTS ARGUS WROTE
Highgate made the early running but found themselves a goal down after only 11 minutes. A Taylor cross was only half blocked by Conway and Whipps nipped in to poke the ball into the far corner of the net. Both sides produced fine attacking football but lacked bite at the final hurdle. Bodfish completed a superb solo run down the right flank by firing well over the cross bar on the half hour. Page picked up a poor Coleshill clearance and let fly with a tremendous 20 yard shot which shot inches over the bar.
Half Time Highgate 0 v 1 Coleshill.

SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
Hard fighting Coleshill were rewarded with all three points after Highgate yet again failed miserably to compete in front of goal. A lively Highgate start ended when Whipps put the visitors ahead with a simple shot in the 11th minute after Conway only half blocked a cross from Taylor. Bodfish added a second goal after 51 minutes after being set up by Rosborough.

SOLIHULL NEWS WROTE
Tale Of Woe Continues For Gate

The tale of woe continued at Tythe Barn Lane as Highgate succumbed to a Coleshill outfit packed with experience. The previous six encounters between these sides at the Coppice had produced home wins, but Gate never looked likely to win this time as they lacked fight and commitment. The home side started lively enough and there was cause for optimism when Greg Bennett drove the ball against legs in a packed defence. Bennett fired a low effort wide before Coleshill sounded a warning when Sean Bayliss was forced off his line to dispossess Bodfish. Jim Conway headed on Fleming's free kick for Gary Annand to hook the loose ball into keeper Rogan's arms, but the early spell of pressure came to a sudden end as the visitors took a surprise tenth minute lead. Keith Douglas lost possession to Taylor and the striker's low cross was ricocheted home by Whipps. Bayliss saw repeated action, spreading himself to save Rosboroughs' effort and then watched as Connor placed the rebound high. Curley and Ayes set up Bennett to drive the ball over the bar from the edge of the box, and Page fired a low effort into the keepers arms. It was Page who went closest for the home side as a first time 25 yard volley screamed just inches over the bar. The disappointment continued after the break and after a period of Gate probing the Coleshill defence, a quick break led to the visitors second goal. Rosborough out-stripped the home defence, slipping the ball to the near post where Bodfish was on hand to slide in the decisive goal. Faced with an uphill battle, the home side stuck at the task with little success, Page volleyed past the post in the 54th minute, and Wark headed wide from Douglas' return pass, and this was to be their last chance.
