SPORTS ARGUS WROTE
Hinckley put Coleshill under considerable pressure in the opening minutes but could not penetrate a tight defence which was well marshalled by Harden. After 35 minutes they did, however, take the lead when a great ball from Carl Fears found Mark Lee unmarked on the left. The big midfielder hit a shot which gave goalkeeper Hart no chance. Two minutes later Hinckley increased their lead. Their own goalkeeper Briggs, with the assistance of a strong wind, put his kick into the opposing penalty area and Kempin put the ball into the net.
Half Time: Hinckley 2 v 0 Coleshill

SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
Hinckley put Coleshill under severe pressure in the opening period but it was not until the 18th minute that they took the lead through Mark Lee. The home side increased their lead two minutes later when keeper Kevin Briggs made a colossal clearance into the Coleshill area and Scott Kempin shot home. Coleshill came more into the game after making a double substitution in the 67th minute. Both substitutes were involved in the build up to their 75th minute goal, Kirk Jennings beating Statham on the right and crossing for Jimmy Rosborough to head on to Eddie Barnes who crashed the ball home from six yards.
