SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
Alcester had Phil Hopley sent off in this encounter at Conway Fields. The midfielder was given his marching orders minutes before the interval following an off the ball incident. This seemed to give the home side a much needed boost and 10-man Alcester began the second half in determined mood. The sides served up a more entertaining feast in the second half with Alcester having the better of the openings.

SPORTS ARGUS WROTE
Slack marking in the Alcester defence almost gave visitors Coleshill a dream start at the Conway Fields. With four minutes gone Teeling found himself in space only to shoot tamely at the keeper and two minutes later Burroughs surged clear of his marker only to fire wide. It took a while for Alcester to settle but they went close after 25 minutes when Donegan's free kick was flicked on by Powell and Hallam shot just wide. Alcester's Hopley was sent off in the final minute of the half for abusive language as the game threatened to boil over.
Half Time: Alcester 0 v 0 Coleshill.
