SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
A goal five minutes into injury time from Steve Whipps sent Coleshill home with a point they richly deserved. Two classic goals from Richard Landen, brilliantly engineered by Paul Casey, had underlined Stratford's superiority in a spirited opening period. On 20 minutes Casey swung in an inviting cross from the left which Landen headed beautifully past Mark Hart. And two minutes later Casey once again showed great skill on the wing to find Landen with a ball that gave the big striker a simple chance which he took gratefully. Rob Bradley stole in to pull the visitors back into the game with five minutes of the half remaining. Coleshill's midfield then took a grip on the game in the second half and effectively snuffed out any threat Stratford tried to pose. But Stratford were still looking likely to hang on to precious points until Steve Whipps hammered a shot from the edge of the box that Roger Tye got his hands to but could not prevent from going in.

SPORTS ARGUS WROTE
Two goals in as many minutes mid way through the half gave Stratford a comfortable lead in this entertaining tussle. The Coleshill defence had no answer to the combined talents of Paul Casey and Richard Landen. First of all Casey put over an inch perfect cross which Landen despatched of Hart with a towering header. Shortly afterwards the two combined again with Casey slipping his man and freeing Landen who side-footed the ball underneath Hart and into the net. Both sides could have scored in the opening minutes. A bad back-pass from Gary Roberts put home keeper Roger Tye in trouble but he was able to smother the header from David Coleman. Seconds later Landen had a chance at the other end but headed weakly straight at the keeper. Stratford looked the more comfortable side on the difficult surface although Coleshill missed a great chance when Coleman freed himself in the box but shot narrowly wide. With five minutes of the half remaining, Rob Bradley finished off some good approach work by firing wide of Roger Tye to reduce the arrears.
Half Time: Stratford 2 v 1 Coleshill.
