SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
League leaders Evesham consolidated their position and confirmed themselves as favourites to clinch the title with this narrow win over Coleshill. In a hard fought game it was Coleshill who often enjoyed the better of the exchanges with Bennett figuring prominently in the early attacks. Near the end of the goalless first half Evesham began to find their touch and put Hart, in Coleshill's goal, under considerable pressure. Hart, however, was eventually beaten when Mitchell notched the only goal to enable Evesham to maintain their three point advantage over second placed Armitage.

SPORTS ARGUS WROTE
League leaders Evesham took a while to settle and the pressure appeared to affect both the players and the management. Bennett had the first real opportunity of the game when heading over from Hopkin's corner. Evesham nearly capitalised on a poor back-pass from Whipps, but Mitchell failed to beat goalkeeper Hart to the ball. It was only mid-way through the first half that Evesham managed to force their first corner, although this initiated a ten minute period of pressure by the away side. Coleshill's defence held firm with Hart performing exceptionally well in the Coleshill goal.
Half Time: Coleshill 0 v 0 Evesham.

This was Coleshill's last game of the season but Evesham still had two games to play although they did eventually secure the title!
