SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE

In the 28th minute Taylor knocked a long ball through down the left flank for Whipps to chase and beat a defender before putting over a high cross. David Large, the Princes End centre half, got his head to the ball but was unfortunate to see it loop over his own goalkeeper and just under the bar. Coleshill were unlucky not to go further into the lead when Teeling found Taylor on the far post but his header hit the underside of the bar before being cleared. Coleshill continued to have most of the play but Princes End looked increasingly dangerous on the break and twice came close to sharing the points.

SPORTS ARGUS WROTE
Coleshill had most of the play in midfield without applying the finishing touches but took the lead through an own goal in the 28th minute. Taylor knocked a long through ball down the left flank for Whipps to chase and his cross was headed over Sayce in the Princes End goal by centre-half Large to register an own goal. Coleshill were unlucky not to go further into the lead in the 33rd minute when Taylor's header in the underside of the bar from a cross by Teeling.

COLESHILL HERALD WROTE
First paragraph blurred, need to check Herald.
In the 28th minute Coleshill's centre forward John Taylor knocked a long ball down the left wing for Steve Whipps to chase. At first the visitors right back seemed to have the situation under control but the skilful and determined Whipps too the ball away the defender before sending over a well flighted cross. There was really no danger for United as the only forward in place was outnumbered by three defenders but the Princes centre half, David Large, obligingly put a perfect header over the bemused keeper, Carl Sayce and firmly into the back of the net. This slice of luck in no way detracted from Whipps forceful play which deserved some reward. Shortly afterwards Coleshill were unlucky not to go further into the lead when Kevin Byrne put a cross-field ass to Malcolm Teeling who ran down the right flank before his accurate cross found an unmarked Taylor at the far post. Taylor's flying header hit the underside of the bar before being cleared by The Princes End defence. In the second half Coleshill continued to have most of the lay but the visitors looked increasingly dangerous on the break and twice in injury time, came close to sharing the points, being denied both times by Coleshill's centre half Wayne Jenkins on the goal line.
Man Of The Match: Steve Whipps and Malcolm Teeling.
