SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE

Coleshill certainly had to show their fighting spirit to gain this narrow victory over a battling Hinckley side. Coleshill managed to score the winner in the 14th minute from the only real chance in a first half which had been dominated by Hinckley. It came when Bob Timms began the move with a surging run from deep inside his own half and when Cockerill carried on the move the ball took a deflection off a defender enabling Taylor to force the ball home from close range.

SPORTS ARGUS WROTE
In the second minute Coleshill keeper Tye had to make a fine save from Jenkins, who had over hit a back-pass. There were more roblems for Coleshill when Bennett cleared across his own goalmouth and Martin capitalised by hitting a first-time effort just wide. Coleshill took the lead in the 15th minute against the run of play. Timms made a tremendous run into the box before playing a neat one-two with Cockerill whose cross was deflected into the path of Taylor. He forced the ball home from close range. Lee provided a good opportunity for Hinckley when he beat two defenders to get in a cross which was scrambled away for a corner.
Half Time: Hinckley 0 v 1 Coleshill

COLESHILL HERALD WROTE
Coleshill snatched an important and impressive victory to firmly establish themselves as the top local Scoreline Premier squad. they did so with a single strike in the first half but the result was made all the better because they had to withstand a lot of Hinckley pressure. That pressure began early on and both Jenkins and Martin tested the Coleshill goal but the North Warwickshire team struck back with a vengeance and took the lead in the 14th minute. Bobby Timms was instrumental in setting up the goal producing a powerful and surprising run right into the heart of the Hinckley box. At the last moment he flicked it to Cockerill who set up Taylor at the far post for a tap home goal. A nice effort from Coleshill and one that was all the visitors needed to grab an excellent win at an always tricky ground.
