REPORT
A healthy crowd on a sunny back holiday deserved better as this was far from being an entertaining duel. Coleshill were way off the pace as Manager Paul Casey decided to rest some of his big guns as games come thick and fast, but even when they were introduced late on Town were unable to create any real clear cut chances and the home keeper, who wasted time from the outset, had a very quiet afternoon. Coleshill could have been two up before the game had settled as Shane Benjamin shot across goal and Dean Rathbone weakly side footed straight at the keeper from a great position. When Sphinx started to come into the game they found young debutant Dominic Cotter in fine form in the Coleshill goal. Cotter saved from Towers then Johnson, then set up Giovanni Dainty with a long clearance but the midfielder sent his effort just wide of the post. Coleshill wanted to walk the ball into the net as Andre Gonzales and Shane Benjamin had chances to get shots off but wasted the opportunity. On 26 minutes Blackmore looked to be going nowhere but cleverly chipped the ball into the box for Towers who went to ground under the challenge of Rob Evans, penalty. Harkin converted. Just two minutes later and Coleshill were level as Gonzales sent Dainty free and he chipped the advancing keeper. 1-1. Towers set up Harkin but he lifted his effort over the bar from a great position. Cotter punched clear a dangerous cross and Towers hit the side netting as Sphinx finished the half in the ascendancy.

Towers was a handful and he raced clear in the opening minutes but Cotter was out quickly at his feet and the same two were at it again minutes later but again Cotter came out on top. A change in personnel gave Coleshill fresh impetus but chances were few and far between. Sphinx thought they had scored but it was the linesman who indicated the ball had not crossed the line after a Johnson header. Then a Sam Brooks header was cleared off the line at the other end of the field. Luke Barlone tried to find the top corner of the net with a curling shot but keeper Dutton, at full stretch, palmed the ball away. Former Town player Ricky Cutting thought he'd won the game as he slipped the ball under Cotter but Brooks was on hand to clear and that was the end of the action in a disappointing draw.
