COLESHILL HERALD WROTE
COLESHILL Town boss Paul Casey insists the league's runaway leaders CAN be caught after his side moved into second place this week.
Town's impressive away win at Stourport Swifts on Tuesday night took them to second place, within six points of Westfields albeit having played three more games.
The leaders have incredibly won nine out of nine games so far, conceding just seven goals to have a goal difference of plus 26. But Casey insists they are there to be got at.
Of course they can be caught with 90 points still to play for," he said. "There are 30 games left, it is still all to play for. There is a long way to go in the season.
"Loughborough have games in hand, Coventry United have only played seven games."
Town have now won four out of their last five games in all competitions with their latest victory coming through goals from Josh Quanor and Corey Currithers – something which Casey was delighted with.
"It was really pleasing to get the win and a clean sheet. It was always going to be a difficult place to go on a Tuesday night," he said.
"It took us a while to settle but we dominated the second half. Our keeper made one save and on top of winning 2-0 we hit the post, hit the bar and had other chances.
"I am pleased at how we are coming together and my back four had a good game. It was Craig Milligan's first 90 minutes all season.
"Corey hasn't been playing for two months. I put him on the bench to freshen his legs and he looked electric when we brought him on. He got a great goal which he will be over the moon with. He is starting to make friends with the players. We joke that he is the best defensive winger we have ever seen!"
Coleshill have also bolstered their ranks with the signing of prolific forward Jordan Nadat, a former Sutton Coldfield Town player.
Casey has described him as 'probably one of the best if not the best in the league'.
His side are now preparing to host Brocton in a "massive" run of games as they travel to Alvechurch and then Westfields at the end of the month.
Casey added: "We have big games coming up. If my players perform badly at the weekend they won't play against Alvechurch who everybody wants to play against. It is massive and our attitude needs to be right."
A VIEW FROM THE OTHER SIDE
A match report taken from Stourport Swifts web site
Stourport Swifts were well beaten by a powerful Coleshill side on Tuesday night.
Second in the table Town opened strongly, and Josh Quaynor put his side in front after only nine minutes after Beasley brought down Barlone on the edge of the box and he coolly stepped up to stroke in the free kick. Gwilliams produced two fine save to deny Smikle and Sterling as Swifts were fortunate to go in only one down at half time.
Chances that came their way after t he break were wasted as Sweeney, Shilvock and Hudson all missed the goal with good opportunities.
Coleshill sub Corey Currithers showed them how it should be done when he pounced on a mistake by Fulloway and fired past Gwilliams to make it 2-0 on 65 minutes.
