REPORT
Coleshill showed the two sides of their character in this one game. A scintillating performance in the first half saw the Colemen go three up with some great passing football. Mykel Beckley at the double and Reece Leek with the goals.
And then the second half! Totally flat!
Rocester came back into the game and pulled a couple of goals back, one from the penalty spot. Dean Rathbone settled the nerves with two late goals in his Man Of The Match showing, that's 25 for the season.

Just three games remaining to hold on to second spot with Sporting Khalsa pushing hard there could be no let up and Coleshill came out all guns blazing in the first half. The Colemen took the lead on 8 minutes when good interplay between Reece Leek then Dean Rathbone released Dale Taylor into the box and his cross was easily headed home by Mykel Beckley. Rathbone then Craig Milligan had goalbound shots blocked before Town increased the lead on 17 minutes with an even better move. Rathbone, Tom Weale and Mykel Beckley all moved the ball on smartly before setting up Reece Leek who arrowed a powerful low shot into the corner of the net and within a minute it was three as Weale and Rathbone passed their way through a static defence to set up Mykel Beckley who picked his spot from just inside the box, game over. The entertaining one and two touch football continued as a Dale Taylor side foot shot cannoned off the bar but a loose ball out of defence was snapped up by the Romans Riddell to Roome who saw his shot well saved by Paul Hathaway and then another casual ball was nicked by Riddell who advanced into the box before shooting wide.

Three nil up at the break it sometimes can be hard to get motivated but Coleshill took their foot off the gas completely and allowed the visitors back in the game. The visitors danger man Riddell, made the most of a long ball through a static defence and finished well on 66 minutes. The game was dying on it's feet but wasn't helped by the officials and on 71 minutes the referee awarded Rocester a penalty which looked ludicrously generous. Smyth converted, 3-2. Could Coleshill possibly throw away the game after leading so easily? Up stepped Dean Rathbone! First he hit the bar from 25 yards then on 85 minutes Rathbone and Beckley combined in a one-two move and Rathbone finished confidently. On 90 minutes it was five as substitute Joel Ambalu headed on a through ball and Dean Rathbone curled the ball into the bottom corner.

105 league goals for the season and two games left, Coleshill certainly know where the net is but it's at the other end that needs sorting out, 56 conceded is the most in the top four. Still two tough games to come, Highgate away is never easy and then Sporting Khalsa last game should define who finishes runner-up.
