MATCH REPORT
Will the real Coleshill Town please step forward!!!!!

Just as it looked as though promotion was slipping away, 2 points from the last four games, overtaken by Highgate United, and a disjointed first 45 minutes against bottom club Rocester, 0-0 at half time, then BOOM! It all clicked and seven goals later, and a defeat for Highgate, and promotion is back on!

This was Coleshill's season summed up in 90 minutes. On their day, they are the best team in this league, just ask Champions Bromsgrove Sporting who we stuffed 4-0 at their place. But to win a league title you have to perform week in, week out. Rocester didn't look like a relegated team in the first half as Coleshill struggled to break them down, but when Matt Gardner scored early in the second half you could hear a huge sigh of relief followed by some of the best football and goals seen at Pack Meadow all season.

Joe Halsall had a great chance to give Coleshill an early lead but headed a lovely cross from a Ryan Edmunds free kick over the bar. Exodus Geohaghon headed a Ryan Edmunds corner just past the post. Rocester didn't look out of their depth but were lacking in the final third. Home keeper Paul Hathaway had to dive on the ball after a fine run and cross from 11, (Names to follow) and then saved a shot from 4. From one of a series of corners, and a bout of head-tennis, Reece Leek's goalbound volley was headed over the bar by 6. 6 then headed wide from a corner at the other end and then the busy 6 headed a Joe Smith over his won bar and then the same player brought out a great save from Paul Hathaway but the effort was off-side anyway. From another two corners Exodus Geohaghon had a great chance to score his first goal for Coleshill but his volley went just past the post as the half ended goalless.

Coleshill continued to squander chances early in the second half, Matt Gardner headed wide and Joe Smith shot wide. Paul Hathaway came to the rescue as he has any many, many occasions as he saved an 8 effort at a stretch. But everything changed on 56 minutes when Matt Gardner broke the deadlock. Joe Cole cleared from defence and found a willing runner in Matt Gardner. The striker still had lots to do but his turn and shot from just outside the box was quality and too much for the visitors keeper. 1-0 and relief! Coleshill upped the pace, the enthusiasm, and the quality and started to pound the visitors goal. Reece Leek's great turn and shot from just outside the box made it 2-0 on 65 minutes. A Ryan Edmunds shot came off 6 but Matt Gardner was on hand to head in No3 on 68 minutes. A cross-field quality ball by Ryan Edmunds was collected on the run by Liam Molesworth who smashed the ball into the net for the fourth with twenty minutes to go. Ryan Edmunds has scored a few candidates for Goal Of The Season this term but, on his 50th appearance, his goal for number five was up there with them all. Edmunds jinked down the left to the bye-line, did a quality 360 degree turn which left two or three players in his wake and then powered a shot into the roof of the net. Matt Gardner headed a Reece Leek cross into the net but was given off-side. 8 sneaked into the box and so nearly grabbed a consolation goal but again the ever alert Paul Hathaway was too good and made a great save. A great run by Reece Leek found Ryan Edmunds and he lifted the ball over the keeper leaving Matt Gardner with a header into the net for 6-0 on 81 minutes. Gardner had the ball in the net again as he tapped home a cross/shot from substitute Demi Smikle but for the second time the effort was ruled out for off-side. Paul Hathaway saved form 9 before Joe Smith finished off the scoring with a minute to go as a Ryan Edmunds shot thundered off the keepers chest but Smith was on hand to find the net from the rebound.

The ball hit the back of the net nine times in 34 minutes. Fabulous! And even better, Highgate lost at Worcester.
Four games to go and Highgate just one point ahead! All to play for.
