MATCH REPORT

Three games to go, three wins and promotion is secured. The task should have been made easier as the hosts had nothing to play for and had already played on Tuesday and Wednesday to clear a back-log of fixtures. But football never works like that and Heanor played a major part in this game with just a short quality spell by Coleshill just before half time making all the difference.

Heanor started brightly and a cross by Craddock was met at the far post by the diving Bullock but Town keeper Paul Hathaway made a great save to tip the effort round the post. This was Hathaway's 50th appearance this season and his 263rd all time, and Mr dependable proved once again how important he is to the Coleshill cause. Reece Leek hit a volley from 35 yards that wasn't too far away as Coleshill slowly worked themselves into the game. Ryan Edmunds hit a left foot shot from just outside the box that scraped the outside of the post before Coleshill took the lead just after the half hour. Town built pressure in the home box, Reece Leek and Gio Dainty having shots blocked. The ball came out to Andre Gonzales and although his cross took a touch from a defender, it still came to captain Joe Halsall in the centre of goal and his powerful header found the back of the net. This was Coleshill's best period and they took full advantage with two further goals before the break. Ryan Edmunds took a free kick from just outside the box and when a clearance came back to him he casually volleyed the ball into the top corner of the net. Another quality goal from a quality player. Not to be outdone Reece Leek controlled a through ball, held off his marker and shot left footed from the 18 yard line across the keeper and into the far corner of the net.
Half Time Heanor 0 Coleshill 3.

With the job just about done Coleshill's tactics were to get the ball deep into the oppositions half as soon as possible. They did have a couple of chances, both Exodus Geohaghon and Matt Gardner having heading over the bar, a run from defence by Rob Evans to Liam Molesworth saw home keeper Pierrepoint make a great save and a Gio Dainty header came back off the bar but Heanor were giving it a good go and had much more possession and finally got reward for their hard work when Daley headed home a Scott cross on 84 minutes.

Three games to go and it's all in Coleshill's hands. Three wins and promotion will be secured. Next up Coventry Sphinx on Saturday.
