Finglas Fires In A Quick One-Two

Moor Green weathered early pressure and then hit Coleshill with two goals in two minutes from Finglas just before half time. This was despite losing goalkeeper Wootton early in the game with a leg injury. Moor Green returned to league action after a second cup success and were soon under pressure but a back pass to goalkeeper Wootton relieved the danger. A free kick for Moor Green taken by Hughes produced a corner but nothing else. Then Tolley for Coleshill was smart to pick up a back pass but was fouled by the visitor's goalkeeper and was injured in the process. He was taken off on a stretcher with a suspected chipped bone in his leg. Moor Green immediately went close when Braddock headed over the home goal in the 30th minute. Coleshill were losing their rhythm and the Moors were getting on top with first Braddock and then Holloway forced a brilliant save from Sammons in the home goal, at the expense of a corner. In the 40th minute Hawkins was pulled down and Finglas scored easily from the penalty spot. Two minutes later Finglas scored Moor Green's second from the edge of the box.
Half Time: Coleshill Town 0 v 2 Moor Green.

The game got off to an unfortunate start following a collision between Tolley and Wootton in the visitors' goal. The home forward was taken to hospital with a damaged ankle. Holloway forced Sammons in the home goal to make a brilliant save from a good header in the 35th minute. The Moor's eventually went ahead from a penalty in the 40th minute when Finglas scored from the spot after Hawkins was pulled down. Finglas put the visitors two ahead a minute later. Coleshill had further mishaps in the second half when first Hevingham then Underhill limped off. Coleshill's nine men fought bravely but the inevitable happened when McDermott scored the Moor's third goal a minute from the end.
