SPORTS ARGUS WROTE
Osman Rocks Evesham

Coleshill rocked home side Evesham when snatching the lead through Osman in the 37th minute. Their celebrations, however, were short lived when three minutes later Bass put Evesham back on level terms from the penalty spot. The early pressure came from Coleshill but when Evesham broke away Sammons had to run out of his goal to snatch the ball off the toe of Bass. Still looking for their first Combination win of the season, United began to play better football but lacked punch up front. When Coleshill won a corner in off the right, Killey punched clear off the head of Blythe. The keeper was in action again soon after when he had to get there quickly to a shot by Stonebridge. The visitors grabbed the lead in the 37th minute through an Osman header which Killey got one hand to but could not keep out. But Evesham were back on terms three minutes later when Bass scored from the penalty spot.
Half Time: Evesham 1 Coleshill 1

SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
Evesham should have chalked up their first Combination win of the season in a poor match but threw away their chances. Both goals came in the first half, first when Canning got his head to a centre by Povey and although Killey got a hand to the ball he could not keep it out. Evesham's equaliser came three minutes later from the penalty spot, Bass netting after Woodridge was pushed.

CHELMSLEY NEWS WROTE
Dour Struggle

The two bottom clubs in the Midland Combination First Division searched desperately for success. Evesham, without a win in 10 outings and Coleshill, longing for their second win in 12 games, battled through a dour struggle to share the spoils. With only 16 goals between them prior to this match, everything pointed to a defensive encounter and this is how it turned out to be. Coleshill certainly had the better opportunities to score, before taking the lead in the 37th minute when Canning headed home. Within three minutes however, Evesham were back on level terms when Bass scored from the penalty spot. Evesham’s keeper Killey did well to thwart efforts from Blythe and Stonebridge, while Coleshill’s Sammons also earned applause for saves from Bass and Woodridge. Points are now becoming vital for Mel Strong’s men at Pack Meadow, but their immediate thoughts must be with the Birmingham Senior Cup match, away to Boldmere St Michaels this Saturday. In contrast to Coleshill’s poor playing fortunes, Boldmere are currently second from top in the Midland Combination with 17 points from 12 games and they have only conceded nine goals, while Coleshill have given away 29.
