Police In Arresting Form

The Police opened the scoring in the 15th minute when Dorrian shielded the ball well before laying it off to Grimshaw who in turn crossed to Scriven who found the net with a perfect header. The Police made it two when Keen took advantage of a long through ball, carried it forward and hit a hard shot into the bottom corner of the net. Brown made it three with a superb overhead kick when the keeper failed to get to a bad back pass and could only punch the ball away. The Police made it four when Scriven ran through a static Coleshill defence to head home a pin-point Dorrian pass past the helpless keeper. The Police were awarded a penalty when Keen was brought down from behind in the box following a great run and Scriven made no mistake with the spot kick to score his hat-trick and given the Police a 5-0 lead at Half Time.

The Police went straight on to the attack at the start of the second half and made it six from a free kick on the edge of the box when Keen blasted the ball through the Coleshill wall into the bottom corner of the net.

Top score of the day went to West Midlands Police. With a lead of five goals at half time the Police were able to coast through the second half. David Scriven was the hat-trick man with two from Phil Keen. Coleshill keeper Sammons was in excellent form but poor defensive play gave him no help, a spectacular overhead kick by Brown completed the 6-0 thrashing of Coleshill.

Scrivens On The Mark To Sink Poor Coleshill

A Sriven hat-trick destroyed Coleshill as the Police ran riot. Scriven opened their account after good work between Dorrian and Grimshaw created the opening for him. A solo effort from Keen put the home side well in command as they continued to press. Coleshill keeper Sammons did well to thwart the busy Dorrian with a reflex save but could do nothing about a spectacular overhead kick from Brown which flew in. Dorrian had a hand in the Police's fourth goal, Scriven burst through onto his pinpoint cross with the Coleshill defence static. Scriven completed his hat-trick before the break from the penalty spot after Keen was brought down on another ambitious run. Keen scored his second after the interval, blasting home a free kick.

Police Skate To Success

Coleshill Town were hit by a five goal blitz as West Midlands Police skated over an icy ground to destroy the visitors defence with accurate finishing. Scriven began the spree for Police in the 15th minute, following good work by Dorrian and Grimshaw. Coleshill's keeper Sammons was left stranded shortly afterwards as Keen ran onto a long through ball and hit a hard, low shot into the corner of the net. Sammons could only punch the ball away from another Police sortie and Brown netted goal number three with an opportunist overhead kick. Coleshill's rearguard was again exposed allowing Scriven to head home a cross from Dorrian. Poor Coleshill were really struggling at this stage and when they conceded a penalty for a foul on Keen there was Scriven, eager to complete his hat-trick, with a well struck spot kick. There was no respite for Coleshill at the start of the second half when from a free kick Keen blasted past a wall of defenders.
