CHELMSLEY NEWS WROTE
First Home Win For Coleshill

Coleshill claimed their first home Midland Combination victory of the season against fellow strugglers Cradley and it was a moment to relish for manager Mel Strong and the Pack Meadow players. Not that Coleshill played all that well, but a determined team effort saw them earn vital points in an effort to get away from the bottom of the First Division. In only his second game for the club Colin Brittle, signed from G.E.C. Witton, schemed many openings and combined effectively with Steve Lamb. Cradley took an early lead and home keeper Sammons was kept busy dealing with several strong attacks, but Coleshill settled down sufficiently to even up the exchanges and before the interval were back on terms with a goal from Barrie Canning. Coleshill looked far more positive in the second half and after Canning had netted his second goal they virtually sealed the issue when a free kick expertly taken by Mark Browning was headed home by full back Shaun Tymon. Cradley replied with a late second goal. This Saturday Coleshill visit Evesham United for the second replay in the third round of the Midland Combination Challenge Cup.
