SPORTS ARGUS WROTE
This top of the table game kicked off with Coleshill doing all the attacking. The home team went close with a header from Tipton and Dyer also went near with a good shot. Garry Jones, in the Coleshill midfield, was having an outstanding game and his fierce shot was saved by Hook. Cinderford, in one of their rare attacks, had a shot from Brown well saved by Hollins.

And later the Sports Argus wrote:
Cinderford heaved a sigh of relief at the end of the top of the table clash with Coleshill Town. Honours were even at half time but the next 45 minutes belonged to Coleshill. They put the Cinderford goal under constant pressure and must have realised that it was not their day to score goals. Hollins in the Coleshill goal was a virtual spectator in the second half and in the Cinderford goal it was by Ray Hook or crook that prevented this vastly improved Coleshill side from taking both points.

CHELMSLEY NEWS WROTE
Coleshill - Their Best

A brilliant display by Gary Jones in midfield prompted a sparkling display by Coleshill, who can consider themselves desperately unlucky not to have taken both points in this top of the table Midland Combination First Division encounter. “It was the best we have played all season.” said manager Colin Holder and it was a pity that there was not a large crowd to witness the skills and enthusiasm of the Pack Meadow men as they did everything but score. Cinderford can thank goalkeeper Hook for thwarting Coleshill’s efforts. He made several great saves, especially from Jones, Dyer and Tipton. Coleshill tore into the attack from the start, with Tipton heading inches wide and Dyer shooting just off target. Jones schemed many openings and was always eager to have a crack at goal. Near half time he saw a shot beat Hook but the ball was cleared off the line by Beasley. It was the same story at the start of the second half as Hook tipped a shot from Russell over the crossbar and Jones had a shot deflected off the line. In the 60th minute Russell and Dyer combined to set up a chance for Tipton, but Hook showing fine anticipation bravely dived at the Coleshill strikers feet to prevent a certain goal. Little was seen of Cinderford as an attacking force and their goal was under siege, but somehow they survived to take home a point. “We may have had better results, but this was a wonderful display.” said Mr Holder, whose only disappointment was the poor attendance. Third from the top Coleshill are worthy of better support.

This Saturday Coleshill visit Cradley Town.
